30 November November in reviewHello. After a few false starts this is now the start of my return to regular blogging... honest. Quite a few things have happened since last we met and whilst I won’t go over everything in detail I will say that Ali has now moved in with me after getting a job in Coventry, we’ve been away on holiday to Lanzerote and Spurs have made the best of Europe after a disappointing start in the Premiership. Of course what I talk about mostly in my little space is the world of computer and video games, the most important event in my absence being the launch of one Viva Pinata a few weeks ago in the states and tomorrow in the UK. It appears to have gone down very well with everyone and is currently averaging 85% on GameRankings; this is both very respectable for a game that everyone appeared to be wary of just a few months ago and very pleasing to see something that we’ve worked on so hard be welcomed with such glowing reviews. I personally think that the reviews are more pleasing than the overall scores we’ve been given as it appears that so many of the reviewers have been gripped by Pinata fever and numerous podcasts from various networks have had entire teams admitting their new found love of virtual gardening. Possibly my favourite endorsement, though, has been that of Bungie who have admitted their love of VP to 1UP. If they put spend even just a fraction of the time I spent in Halo in Viva Pinata then I will be a happy man. I myself have almost put fifty hours back into the game and have all but a few of the Pinatas to show for it; once that’s done I can setup my ideal garden. Now I know I’ve only just returned but I’m heading off again tomorrow as a quintet from our team are off to Los Angeles to a Pinata party. There are going to be hundreds of piñatas there and sending us there is a very nice “thank you” from the management after the last few years work. Right, I’ve announced my reappearance but I’ll be back Tuesday with some stories from the other side of the pond. |
